KCML granted FII status
The Securities and Exchange Board of India recently
approved KCML's application for registration as a Foreign
Institutional Investor. FII status, which is granted only
after a rigorous approval process, allows institutions
not resident in India to invest in companies quoted on Indian stock
exchanges, either directly or on behalf of their investment
management clients. Without FII status, investment
managers interested in India can only invest indirectly
through funds run by other managers.
